Calorie Restriction Diet

A calorie restriction diet is good for weight loss, longer life and good health. When you stop to look at all the diets, diet plans and diet package programs they are all calorie restriction diets. We are obsessed with diet plans. Diet plans are right up there with political and religious discussions and have the same amount of controversy.

If you want to live as long and as healthy as possible you had better eat small amounts of good healthy foods. It is obvious to most everyone that people who live in industrialized nations eat to much. Very few of us can maintain our ideal weight for all of our lives. But all the research and the observable truth states skinny people live longer and healthier lives period.

Most of these same people not only eat to much but they eat unhealthy food. Most diets consist of processed foods and most of these foods have no nutrient value and are loaded with bad fats and toxins. Most of us eat meats, chicken and fish which are full of drugs, heavy metals and toxic chemicals. This all means we are on the fast track to disease and unhealthy lives.

That brings us back to calorie restriction and eating healthier foods. Any calorie restrictive diet will help you lose weight if you need to but the best restrictive diet is the healthiest one. Eat a moderate amount of a near vegetarian diet. Eat less meat, pastas, grains, oils and sugars. Eat more vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts and true whole grains.

Eating lots of vegetables and fruits while dropping oils, sugars and meats will automatically drop calories and will drop your weight. Adding in small amounts of seeds, nuts and whole grains will give you the needed nutrients and protein to keep your body strong and healthy.

I believe we are so used to over eating that we now believe we need 2000 to 4000 calories a day just to get by. This is not true. You can easily function on 1000 calories a day and even 500 calories a day for short periods like two to four weeks. Just look at the people who do the HCG diet which is a 500 calorie a day diet that has been very successful for thousands of people. There are many others for weight loss but after the weight loss the only way to keep off weight is to eat less of the best foods you can find.

The next thing we say is "this is just to difficult to do" and your are as correct as you believe you are. It is only difficult if you believe it is. There is no doubt it will be different but any human being can do it if they wish to. It comes down to what is it you want out of life. If you want a long and healthy life then a calorie restriction diet is not only a way to lose weight but is a way of life diet that will keep you healthy.
