GSH Glutathione
The Master Antioxidant

GSH (Glutathione), is the body’s “master antioxidant” and is a very important nutrient chemical which allows the body to heal itself from many of the worlds diseases. It is a protein that is naturally occurring in the body and is in each cell and protects tissue and organs from aging and disease. It can also be called “ a fountain of youth” for it helps keep the body young and vibrant.

Glutathione has been heavily researched at McGill University in Canada as well as other centers around the world. These studies and even more ongoing studies show high levels of glutathione may protect against cancer, heart disease, premature aging, autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses. The amount of intracellular GSH appears to be an indicator of the cell’s overall health and its ability to resist toxic challenges.

Glutathione, in reality, is being taken from our bodies on a daily basis. Even more is taken from the human body by people who are exposed to high levels of oxidative stress. This oxidative stress is being caused by smoking, pharmaceuticals, hydrocarbons, heavy metal ingestion, bad diet, hard exercise, radiation and tissue injury.

Undenatured whey protein which is a pure high quality protein gotten from fresh cows milk. This particular process and quality of whey protein has the ability to significantly increase the amount of GSH in the cells. It is also a nutrient dense food which is a great source of amino acids needed by our cells on a daily basis. As a result of new technologies, a variety of biologically active amino acids, peptides and fractions can now be isolated from whey protein. In it’s pure form it contains little or no fat, lactose or cholesterol. When consumed whey protein isolate has been proven to elevate the GSH available in every cell.

Because of the natural antioxidant power of GSH supplements which can significantly raise the glutathione levels of cells these supplements have taken on the mantle of a “super food”. These supplements can and do promote optimal health and the feeling of well being.

Glutathione has no effective source except food outside the body. Glutathione in capsule, pill or powder is almost worthless. In order for the body to make GSH it must have what they call precursors, which are chemical nutrients that when combined inside the body allow the body to make all the Glutathione it needs. These precursors are the three amino acids cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine. Undenatured whey protein provides these three amino acids as well as many other amino acids an nutrients.

Glutathione (GSH) has four major functions:

Antioxidant Neutralize destructive free radicals. Recycles other antioxidants that has become oxidized. And increase the effectiveness of other antioxidants, such as Vitamins C and E
Immune System The immune system relies on glutathione for proper functioning. and is considered the body’s frontline defense against infection, whether bacterial or viral. glutathione also plays a major role in the body’s defense against the formulation and ongoing production of abnormal cancer cells. Also strengthens the body’s killer cells.
DetoxificationGlutathione can neutralize toxins, such as air and water pollutants and carcinogens. The liver is the body’s detoxifier, and glutathione is the foundation of this process.
Radiation
Exposure to radiation from all sources produces hydroxyradicals, the most reactive radical known. Glutathione acts as a radiation protector and free radical killer.

Glutathione in foods is found in fruits, vegetables, grains and high protein sources.
