ORAC Score In Foods
By Order Of Antioxidant Power

ORAC Score shows what foods, spices and herbs have the highest antioxidant activity. This study was done in conjunction with the USDA. It has been found that foods high in antioxidant activity are the foods that help protect us against heart disease, cancer, stroke and almost any other disease or condition you can name.

Antioxidants are the nutrient chemicals that interact with free radicals either destroying them or making them back into regular healthy cells. Eating foods or taking supplements with high antioxidant activity protects us against aging. It is very easy to get high antioxidant supplements now. It is best to take whole food supplements like our super fuel or our three antioxidant products.
ORAC Score = oxygen radical absorption capacity. This test was developed by the researchers at Tufts University in conjunction with the USDA and is preformed by certified private laboratories.

Foods, Spices and Herbs by ORAC Score .
The score is for 100 grams. 1000mg equals 1 gram. Divide the ORAC score by 100 to get the score for a 1000mg dose. Another example: an apple weighs 130 grams multiplied by the apples one gram score equals the orac value for that apple. Just adding certain spices to foods and your supplement list can give you a great deal of antioxidant protection for a relatively low price.

This is quite a long list of antioxidant rich foods but is by no means all. All fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains have some antioxidant power. Also one must remember that we do not eat good foods for antioxidants alone. There are many foods that have a relative low orac score but score very high in other nutrients, vitamins and minerals and our body needs many different types of nutrients to function properly and prevent disease.
