Vitamin D
You Need It

Sunlight is the natural source of Vitamin d. Despite what the daily media tells you, as well as many health professional sources, you need to get out in the sunlight. In many instances the press is giving us bad information. The sun is not our enemy. They tell us that our skin will wrinkle and we will look older prematurely. Of course they also state we will increase our risk of cancer.

It is true about almost everything that we tend to overdo about everything. You should always avoid overexposing your self to the sun. Overexposure is sunburn. Most people can take a walk outdoors for thirty minutes a day and expose the skin to direct summer or winter sunlight and not burn or cause harm of any kind. Does anyone really believe that the creative force would design a human body to live on this planet and not allow for sun exposure? And besides most health professionals feel 10 to 20 minutes a day will prevent deficiencies.

If you avoid the suns ultraviolet light you risk detrimental effects on your health and will increase disease and aging. Why do you think people suffer more colds, flu, depression and suicides during the winter months? It’s pretty simple lack of sunlight and therefore lack of vitamin d. During the winter you need more sun exposure rather than less. Due to the sun dropping lower your levels of this vitamin drop 50%.

The important demonstrated research and studies show Vitamin d is essential for:
• A healthy immune system (colds and flues start with a weak immune system)
• Your heart and cardiovascular system
• For men prostate support
• It helps increase white blood cells
• Healthy skin (just the opposite of the media claims)
• Regulates Calcium and Phosphorus Levels in the blood.
• Promotes anti tumor activity
• Promotes anti aging vitamin d research shows.
• Provides protection from osteoporosis
• Provides protection from high blood pressure
• Provides protection from cancer.
• Prevents rickets a disease that is unfamiliar in developed countries

Other Sources of Vitamin d in small amounts are:
• Cod Liver Oil (every ones favorite)
• Fish
• Eggs

Your body does not produce this vitamin; you need sun exposure to stimulate the bodies vitamin production. Yes there are vitamin supplements on the market to replace this but nature is by far the best. And yes we have vitamin d in our whole food complete nutritional supplement Super Food Max but even so sun exposure is better.
