In Japan people used 45mg of the MK-4 form of Vitamin K to treat and reverse osteoporosis. In the Netherlands women who took the K2 for three years increased bone density while the placebo group lost bone density.

Another benefit of Vitamin K is it also reduces bone loss caused by cortisone, blood thinning drugs, menopause, diabetes and other disease. In the very newest studies at Columbia School of Medicine this vitamin helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
